The base of the Legion is De Monfort’s True Devotion
1. Visitation of the Homes. Parish visits and house –to –house visits (usually done in summer evenings)
2. Conducting of Religious instruction classes (where necessary)
3. Visitation of the sick, housebound, elderly and handicapped suggesting the Priest to visit when required.
4. Catholic Literature and Miraculous Medals are given on visitation and on many other occasions.
5. Recitation of the Rosary at Chapel of Rest and/or at funerals
6. Promotion of Catholic Associations and Parish societies.
7. Collaboration in every apostolic and missionary undertaking sponsored by the parish.

Evangelisation
This is carried out by visits to the lapsed to encourage them to return to the practice of the Faith and when doing house-to-house visits. All work is confidential
Work for the most wretched and Dejected.
Visitation of haunts, lodging houses, hostels and jails. Conducting hostels staffed by legionaries, resident and outdoor.eg Morning Star Hostel, Frank Duff House.
The Book Barrow.
Legionaries in many places conduct a portable bookstall in public places, preferably in or near a busy street.
Street Contact. The legion believes in the value of personal contact. As well as the book barrow Street Contact is done in many places, (in Manchester for example)
Promoting the Practice of Daily Mass and Devotion to the Blessed Sacrament, visits to the Churches and making a Holy Hour.
