Frank Duff born in Dublin on the 7th June 1889 He entered the Civil Service when 18. At 24 he joined the Society of St. Vincent De Paul. Along with a group of women and Fr. Michael Toher formed the Legion of Mary on the 7th September 1921 from that day till his death on 7th November 1980 he guided the world wide extension of the Legion. He received a standing ovation from the Cardinals and Bishops when he attended the 2nd Vatican Council. We are praying daily for his beatification
Edel Quinn was born in Co. Cork Ireland on the 7th September 1907. She joined the Legion in Dublin in 1932. Went as Envoy to Africa though suffering from a fatal illness. She worked tirelessly for eight years. She died on the 12th May 1944 and was buried in Nairobi. She was given the title of Venerable by Pope John Paul 11 in 2002 Only one Miracle required for her Beatification.
Alphonsus Lambe (known as Alffie) He was born in Tullamore Ireland on the 24th June 1932. He was prevented from becoming a Christian Brother due to Ill health.He joined the Legion soon afterwards. Went to Columbia, Uruguay and Brazil in 1953. He died in Buenos Aires on the 21st January 1959 His cause is up for Canonisation also.
